A 1960’s era angular pool was transformed into a natural-style pool with the addition of a raised spa. Catalina stone boulders from the site construction were utilized in the remodel. All Cooldeck was removed and new patio seating areas of colored, exposed aggregate concrete were created.

A 1970’s-era angular pool at a 5′ elevation drop from the main patio was hidden by a hedgerow atop a retaining wall. A spa with 5 custom height seats and a lay-down bench was added 18″ lower in a widened area of the wall. A massive waterfall with a stream and step stones connects them. Cool deck was replaced by flagstone, making far more patio space.

A rectilinear pool from the 1970’s was transformed into a more usable center of this outdoor living space converting a second set of steps into a spa with customized seating. The stained cooldeck was removed and replaced with a coping of round-edged lump block caps for both safety and harmony with the adobe and rose brick that trimmed the remainder of the yard and existing patio spaces.
